Alerts
This section describes all user-defined alerts in TradersYard X. The following Alerts are supported:
- Price Alerts
- Time Alerts
- Indicator Alerts

The price alert is triggered when a current price has broken through the specified user price level. You can use this to operate in different events on the trading chart. A price alert may also be linked to an order. If the price alert is activated, this either deletes or activates the order.
Should you create a price alert TradersYard X will note the
price of instruments for the creation. Additionaly you can choose, whether the price alert will be activated in RTH (RealTimeTradingHours) only or outside these hours.

The Price alerts tab contains the following columns:
Column | Meaning |
Instrument | Instrument symbol |
Price | Price level at which the alert will be triggered |
Trigger on | Price type at which the alert will be triggered (Last, Ask oder Bid) |
Reason | The reason for alert (set manually) |
Sound | The sound that will be played when the alert is triggered. If no sound is selected, the reason for alert will be spoken by a synthetic voice. |
E-Mail | An Email address can be entered (e.g. [email protected]). If the price alert gets triggered a notification will be sent per email. |
Popup | If the price alert gets triggered a notification will be send as popup. |
Is global | The price alert will be displayed on the chart |
Is RTH | The price alert will be activated only during the regular trading hours |
Mobile Notific. | Enable mobile notification |

Right clicking in the Price alerts tab will bring up the context menu with the following options:
- Add Alert: adds a new alert and opens a popup to enter the criteria.
- Edit Alert: opens the popup that allows you to edit the criteria.
- Remove Alert: deletes the selected alert.
- Export to MS Excel: exports the alert rows into a CSV-file.
You can add an indicator alert by doing one of the following:
- 1.Right click in the charting area to bring up the context menu, then select the Add Price Alert menu item.
- 2.Select Tools from the main menu followed by the Alerts -> Price alert.

Specific settings can also be called up by clicking the symbol (marked below) next to the cancel box.


Next, select the sound for the price alert from the drop-down list:

If you click on Choose other... the sound library window will open:

If the market price reaches the price entered in the price alert, the specified sound will be heard.
To program an e-mail to be sent when the price alert is activated:
- Make the changes individually in the Price alert tab by right clicking the required price alert and selecting Edit Alert.
Price alerts can be managed within the Price alert manager.
Example 1.Deleting orders with a price alert (OCO orders created by holding the CTRL button).

Example 2.Activating orders with a price alert (IfDone orders created by holding the Alt button).

Price alerts may be saved as order templates. However, this setting is valid for discretionary trades but not for TX++ mode.
Using the Alert handler you can program individual features for alerts.
Important! To make price alert visible on a chart please activate Show Price Alert Lines. Details on page Chart Toolbar: Price markers and spread markers
Time alert is a one-time or iterative reminder about specific important dates such as:
- 14:30 American market data
- Expiration days for futures or options
- Reminder every Friday at 14:30 during 10 weeks etc.

The Time alerts tab contains the following columns:
Column | Meaning |
Date&Time | Date and time of the (next) reminder |
Reason | The reason for alert (set manually) |
Iteration | Repetition frequency for the time alert. If no repetition frequency is entered here, the alert will be triggered only once. |
Iteration Type | tba |
Sound | The sound to be played when the alert is triggered. If no sound is selected, the reason for the alert will be spoken by a synthetic voice. |

Right clicking in the Time alerts tab will bring up the context menu with the following options:
- Add Alert: adds a new alert and opens a popup to enter the criteria.
- Edit Alert: opens the popup that allows you to edit the criteria.
- Remove Alert: deletes the selected alert.
- Export to MS Excel : exports the alert rows into a CSV-file.
You may select the following criteria in the alert popup:

This functionality allows you to set an alert that will inform you when a particular indicator has crossed the defined price level.

The indicator alerts tab contains the following columns:
Column | Meaning |
Chart | Shows the instrument and time frame for which an indicator alert was set |
Indicator | The indicator that will trigger the alert once the set price level is crossed |
Last Price | Current price |
Alert Price | Price level at which alert will be triggered |
Reason | The reason for alert (set manually) |
Sound | The sound to be played when the alert is triggered. If no sound is selected, the reason for alert will be spoken by a synthetic voice. |

You can add an indicator alert by doing one of the following:
- 1.Right click in the charting area to bring up the chart context menu, then select the Add Indicator Alert menu item
- 2.Select the Alerts -> Indicator Alert menu option from the Tools main menu.
This functionality allows you to set an alert that will inform you when a particular indicator crosses the specified price level.

Click the symbol marked on the image below to bring up the specific settings window.

Then select the sound directly from the price box drop-down list:

If you click on Choose other... the sound collection window will be opened:

As soon as the defined price is crossed by an indicator you will hear the selected sound once.
If you wish to be informed about the triggered indicator alert via email, you can enable this:
- By right clicking on the desired price alert in the Price alert tab. Select the Edit Alert menu item within the context menu (individual setting).
Right clicking in the Indicator alerts tab will bring up the context menu with the following options:
- Add Alert: adds a new alert and opens a popup to enter the criteria.
- Edit Alert: opens the popup that allows you to edit the criteria.
- Remove Alert: deletes the selected alert.
- Export to MS Excel : exports the alert rows into a CSV-file.
Connect alerts with IfDone (alt + left mouse button) and OCO (Strg(Ctrl) + left mouse button) connections.
Example
- 1.If the entry order gets triggered the Alert1 short and Alert1 long will be activated because a IfDone connection (green line) was set.
- 2.If the Limit order (long target) gets filled the price Alert1 short will be cancelled because of a OCO connection (red line) was set. Furthermore if the Alert1 (long) gets triggered the Stop order will be cancelled.
- 3.If the Stop order (short stop) gets filled the price Alert1 long will be cancelled because of a OCO connection (red line) was set. Furthermore if the Alert1 (short) gets triggered the Limit (Target) order will be cancelled.

Price alerts can be connected among each other in the OCO-group.
In the Configuration Editor you can enter the following settings, about how to get informed of Alerts:
- Message Box
- Sound
- E-Mail
- Mobile Notifier
- and various other Settings.

What you enter in the Configuration Editor will be the default setting of each alert.
